One of the nation's top universities asked Teramark to help raise awareness of one its newest and most significant projects through robust Internet marketing. The university's initiative, launched a half-year before, included a dynamic website that would offer the straight facts underlying critical issues we face as a country. However, the website and supporting social media platforms had not yet attracted the numbers of visitors, or the level of engagement, that the university expected. Teramark tackled this challenge on a number of fronts. We created new branding for the social media sites and changed the nature of Facebook and Twitter posts to encourage people to link to the website and also join discussions. We introduced new, more effective meta tags to enhance the search engine optimization. We experimented with paid promotion, including online ads of various kinds, to help drive traffic.

The results were outstanding. Teramark was able to boost very significantly the Facebook and Twitter communities, increasing the number of Facebook "likes" and the virality of posts, increasing the number of Twitter followers and the percentage of retweets, and increasing Google organic search traffic. Visitors to the website stayed longer, visited more pages and entered into community discussions. Managers of the university project expressed great satisfaction at the substantial increase in overall awareness.
